Description
In the depths of South Florida's Big Cypress Preserve (which is right next to, and part of the same ecosystem as, the Everglades), there are many small sloughs littered throughout the landscape. These sloughs are typically depressions in the bedrock that become major flow channels in the wet season, taking on the appearance of small creeks or even rivers. This is Sweetwater Slough, flanked on both sides by beautiful cypress trees adorned with ferns and epiphytes.
